Spinal & Postural Screenings

Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being. We provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.

Electro - Muscle Stimulation

Is a special electrical current that is administered at the site of soft tissue injury, especially muscles, for the blocking of pain. Small amounts of electrical current are induced into the tissues for the purpose of reducing swelling.  This widely used technique safely strengthens muscles and helps reduce painful symptoms.

Ultrasound

It is a therapeutic treatment using high-frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries.  Sound vibrations, as fast as million times per second, penetrate the tissues deep in the body, creating a heat response.  These vibrations and heat help break down and disperse unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations.

Diathermy (Sinus Treatment)

Is a form of shortwave electro-magnetic energy used to raise the temperature of certain soft tissues below the surface of the skin.  Unlike a heat lamp, the Diathermy energy field passes through the softer tissues near the surface of the body, turning into heat when reaching the more dense tissues below the surface.  This increases blood circulation and can help speed the healing process.

Trigger Point Therapy

A Trigger Point is an area of uncontrolled muscle tightness causing tenderness which interferes with normal muscle function. This restricts normal range of motion, weakens the muscle, and may refer pain to other parts of the body.  To prepare the site, a cooling spray may be used.  As pressure is applied, some patients experience temporary discomfort until the muscle relaxes. Trigger Point Therapy is a highly effective way to reduce muscle spasms and relax hyperactive muscles.  This helps restore normal range of motion and promote faster healing.

Intersegmental Traction

Is a way of inducing passive motion into the spine for the purpose of stretching spinal joints and increasing mobility.  The patient lies face up on a bench table which has roller-type cams beneath its surface.  These rollers can slowly travel the length of the spine, stretching spinal joints.  The gentle rolling action is restful, exercising the spine without effort.

Triton Traction Table

The DTS Triton Spinal Table is used for spinal decompression which is safe and it's effective treatment is designed to help relieve problems encountered with your back, neck or referred pain such as herniated discs.  Clinical studies show a high percentage of reduced pain in patients using a non-surgical spinal decompression therapy.  DTS Triton Traction Table for spinal decompression therapy is a safe and effective treatment for pain without the risks associated with surgery, anesthesia, infections, injections or prescription medication.  Our clinic recognizes this new technology can help many patients who have had little success with other conservative treatment. Spinal Decompression has been the most important medical advance in the non-surgical, non-invasive treatment of back pain in the past 10 years. This FDA cleared Spinal Decompression technology is presently being utilized by neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, chiropractic physicians, family physicians, pain specialists, and physical therapists across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

Hydro Massage Therapy

Enhance your vigor and energy through a complete acupressure massage by water jets.  Human homeostasis refers to the body's ability to physiologically regulate its inner environment to ensure its stability in response to fluctuations in the outside environment and the weather. Hydro massage amplifies blood circulation to generate recovery, increases oxygen absorption in the blood stream boosting energy and increases muscular range of motion for better flexibility.  Hydro Massage Therapy benefits also include decreasing inflammation and muscular toxins for better injury recovery.

Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.

Lifestyle Advice

We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient continue with the activities they enjoy most... living a full and happy life.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy offers a natural conservative treatment approach that relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Specific massage and muscular therapy is tailored to meet the patient's condition and injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include increasing blood circulation, reducing swelling, relaxing muscles, relieving muscle pain and spasms, and aid in increasing range of motion.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin needles in your skin at strategic points on your body. Acupuncture originated in China thousands of years ago, but over the past three decades its popularity has grown significantly within the United States. Many Western practitioners view the acupuncture points as places to stimulate nerves, muscles and connective tissue. This stimulation appears to boost the activity of your body's natural painkillers and increase blood flow. Dr. Richard Zimmerman provides gentle, effective acupuncture treatment.
